Six Weeks Have Passed
Wow 6 or 7 seven weeks have gone by since I posted any photos. I’ve been out taking pictures and took several hundred of fall colors so I guess I better go back to September and start posting some to get people caught up on the beautiful fall colors here in Colorado. We had an odd fall the oak started to turn red and then all of a sudden went brown then the aspen started to turn and they turned in 3 stages so the early pictures have about 1/3 yellow by the end stages some trees had lost their leaves already so although there were lots of gorgeous sights to photograph we never had a point when all the hills were on fire with the aspens this year. The underbrush was mostly brown then after the aspens had finished a few oak hold outs that had been green started to turn kind of orangey. The neat part his year though was that there were lots of aspen that were orange this year instead of yellow.
Here are a few of the last flowers, these were on September 12 this butterfly bush is supposed to bloom in spring but it looked dead in spring then in mid summer all of a sudden it came alive and bloomed in September. It has been a bizarre year in general for all the plants here.
the yard was full of these
Going to seed this looked like fur from a stuffed animal
